Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
