A pair of homemade bombs went off in the nation's capital on Thursday, causing the loss of a military personnel and wounds to four other people, including two law enforcement officials. Prosecutors classified the incident as a "terrorist" attack. Per an official statement, the first explosion took place during a routine check by two servicemen. The second device was detonated as medics and officers were responding to the site of the first blast.

In a parallel development, aerial units struck two chemical production facilities located in Russia's western regions. The commander of unmanned aerial forces declared that these plants were producing components for munitions utilized by Russian forces in the conflict against Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army's eastern command on Thursday refuted Russian claims to have taken control of the settlement of Siversk. Military officials stated that the area "remains under the control of the armed forces of Ukraine." They noted that enemy forces were attempting to infiltrate in small groups, using poor weather conditions, but were being eliminated on the approaches. Analysts indicated fresh gains near Pokrovsk and Russian progress in other tactical areas.
International Reactions and Economic Actions
Internationally, the alliance's leader warned member states that "the alliance represents Russia's next target," outlining a scenario of a possible conflict within the coming half-decade. Concurrently, a plan to keep immobilized an estimated €210bn of Russian central bank assets within the EU is scheduled for ratified. This measure facilitates a financial package to Ukraine, funded by the frozen Russian assets.

DPRK leader Kim Jong-un according to state media hailed his soldiers engaged in Ukraine, claiming they had demonstrated the "might" of the North Korean army. South Korean assessments suggest significant losses among these forces.
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about a reported US suggestion for a one-sided Ukrainian pullback from currently held parts of the Donbas to establish a "free economic zone." He raised questions about the idea, asking what would prevent Russian forces from advancing or operating covertly in such a territory.
