British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world shared sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
