Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
