Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.

The assaults follow periods of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
