Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down following standard protocol and all passengers, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was required to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
